PHASES OF BRACES
Phase I / Interceptive Braces
These early braces are used on younger children to correct and modify the positions of the teeth and jaws. Taking this step at an early age helps to reduce the complexity of treatment when your child is older. This step can also help you avoid the need for surgical corrections years down the road.
Phase II Orthodontics
After a child has undergone Phase I braces, it is often necessary to wait a few years for their mouth to finish developing. During this waiting period, you will have periodic appointments to ensure optimal time to start Phase II treatment. Once all permanent teeth are in, the secondary phase of treatment will fine tune your child’s teeth and bite. No matter what your age, it is never too late to begin your journey to a new smile.
